SWALLOW, the local charity supporting teenagers and adults with learning disabilities held a lively and fun Zumbathon at the Hive Community Centre in Peasedown St John on Saturday, 18th October.
Over thirty people, including members and staff from SWALLOW, danced and shimmied for three hours and raised nearly £500 towards SWALLOW’s vital work in the community, supporting their members to live independent and fulfilling lives. The Zumba teachers included Elaine Powers @laneyszumba and Jane Price @Janepricefitsteps.
Here is a quote from one of the people taking part: “I just wanted to say how good the Zumbathon was and how much my friend and I enjoyed it. The instructors were really energetic and enthusiastic. They were so good with the young people and it was delightful to see their interaction with them.”
