Timsbury 1st XI finished their campaign in the Bristol and District League Senior Division with their highest score of the season but it was still not enough as they finished 65 runs short of their target.

Timsbury were under the cosh right from the outset after asking Claverham to bat first. The home side’s openers Matthew Croker and James Copeland put on 211 for the first wicket with Timsbury struggling to contain them. Croker was eventually dismissed for 123 and Copeland for 76 but then Lloyd Richardson hit a quickfire 63 not out as Claverham finished on 303-5.

A second wicket partnership of 77 in good time from Mark Sage and Graeme Webb raised hopes of an unlikely victory but when Sage was dismissed for 53 and Webb for 51 a mid-order collapse squashed any such hopes. A late flourish from Kev Sibley (44) at least gave the visitors respectability and they ended on 238-9 with full batting points. Timsbury will again be playing Senior Division cricket next season.

Knocks of 36 from Sol Thompson and 35 from skipper Ben Hosford were the highlights of Timsbury 2nd XI’s total of 191 in their home match with Barrow Gurney in the Bristol and District League Division 5. There were four wickets each for Fran Forge and Nick Heal. An Opening stand of 120 between Jason Cryans (62) and Kieran Owen then put Barrow Gurney well on their way to victory and they eventually came home with six wickets and more than eight overs to spare.

Once again it was Timsbury 3rd XI who stole the honours winning by an impressive 130 runs away to Coalpit Heath 3rd XI in the Bristol and District League Division 13. Teenager Cory Versfeld who has enjoyed an excellent first year with the club led the way with 80, skipper Laurie Jones struck 43 and Henry Webb 33 as Timsbury set a target of 244. Coalpit Heath were never in touch and with Ben Smith taking 4-13 and two wickets each for Liam Hosford and Dave Nowell the home side were hustled out for 114. A strong end to the campaign has seen the third eleven finish in a healthy fourth place in the division with much credit to Jones and Neil Hulford for fielding a side on all but one week of the season.
