TIMSBURY Athletic and Stockwood Wanderers shared the spoils in an evenly contested 1-1 draw in the Uhlsport Somerset County League Premier Division with both sides having the chance to capture all three points.

The game then came to life with two goals in the space of five minutes. First the visitors’ captain Conrad Britton headed his side in front with a strong header and then Sam Gregory equalised from the penalty spot after Midgley had been brought down. An Ellis Hancock header for Timsbury finished just the wrong side of the post while a Gregory free-kick was deflected over the top. The home side looked sure to go behind when Britton raced clear and rounded keeper Jack Scrivens but his goalbound effort was cleared off the line by defender Liam Watson.

Early in the second half Hobbs was well wide with a speculative effort and then Rico Sobers forced Lewis to make a fine save with a thunderous shot from wide on the right. Both sides had their chances and no one went closer than Charlie Perkins for the visitors who saw a rasping free-kick hit the Timsbury crossbar. At the other end Gregory  saw his shot saved by Lewis at the near post.
