After a campaign bedecked with attractive football the first team were crowned champions of the Somerset County League Division 1 after a thrilling tussle with runners-up Wells City Reserves. The team finished the season unbeaten at home and overall won 21 matches with a total of 68 points.

The evening saw the awarding of a new trophy to the leading scorer in memory of a much missed stalwart of the club Alan Thomas. His daughter Nicky Brice was in attendance to award it to Rhys Cook who notched a stunning 31 league goals. For the second time Chris Midgley was young player of the year and was also recipient of First Team Players’ Player of the Year award. The Roy Lockyer Memorial Trophy as Supporters’ Player of the Year went to Callum Taylor and goalkeeper Ashton Tucker was the Manager’s Player of the Year . Nigel Day who contributes so much to sports clubs in the village received the James Adams Memorial Trophy as Clubman of the Year.

The Reserve team finished in fourth place in the Trophies of Radstock Mid-Somerset League Division 1 with 10 wins from their 18 matches and a total of 31 points. Manager ,Kevin Abbott’s award went to Mark Hancock with Kane Frith the players’ choice.

Tributes were paid at the Presentation evening to Chairman Rob Veater’s wife Caroline and devoted supporter Alan Hancock who had both passed away recently. Alan had been able to witness Timsbury’s championship success before his death and the players all wore t-shirts that had been produced in his memory. M Tucker
