Timsbury Athletic opened their home programme in the Somerset County League Division One East with a hard-working win over the previously unbeaten, Westfield. Despite it being only Timsbury's third game of the season, it was the second time the sides had met this campaign, with the visitors winning the earlier encounter, 2–0.

It was Westfield who made the stronger start. Charlie Walton used his speed to break clear of the home defence, but under pressure from Ellis Hancock, he saw his effort smothered by home keeper, Ben Paisey. Ryan Allen was proving a real threat up front for the visitors and he gave Westfield a deserved lead after fourteen minutes. His first effort was parried by Paisey, but he followed up to strike home the rebound. Soon after, the same player was just wide with another header and then headed against the post with Paisey a mere onlooker. It took Timsbury more than half-an-hour to pose a serious threat, but in their first meaningful foray, they equalised. Mark Hancock, who had come on as an early substitute for Sean Derrick, tried to lob keeper, Wayne Gay, but only succeeded in finding fellow striker, Justin Dowling, who found the net from the acutest of angles. Five minutes from half-time, Timsbury took the lead. Brothers, Mark and Ben Hancock, linked up well and found Jack Nix, who struck his shot under the body of the diving Gay. Right on the interval, Timsbury should have gone 3–1 ahead, but Dowling spurned the opportunity, shooting over the top with the goal gaping.

Early in the second half, Ellis Hancock rose well to head a Ross Padfield corner goalwards, only to see it blocked, while a speculative shot from Mark Hancock went wide. At the other end, Westfield substitute, Beau Baber, saw his shot blocked. Dowling had a chance to increase Timsbury's lead, but his shot was comfortably held by Gay. A long free kick from Jack Woodland caused mayhem in the home penalty area, but Timsbury survived. As the visitors pressed to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, Timsbury proved resilient in defence, with Paisey handling with assurance and Ben Hancock marshalling the back line well.

With time running out, substitute, Dan Woodland, hit a late chance just wide for Westfield and Timsbury held on for three hard-earned points.
