Nick Beaverstock's men opened their pre-season campaign with a 5–0 away win against Somerset County Premier side, Nailsea Town, on Saturday afternoon.

Anthony Conradi scored a penalty, with other goals coming from stalwart, Andy Keen, Captain, Chris Peck, and new signings, Ricky Scott and Theo Salassi. There were also several pleasing performances from several new Youth Team players included in the squad.

Next up for the Rovers is a home match against Calor League side Mangotsfield United, at 3 p.m. this coming Saturday, 19th August. Midsomer Norton Youth FC will be the guests of honour on the day, with a couple of small-sided games being held at half-time in front of what we hope will be a good crowd. On Sunday, Welton Rovers Under-18s will take on their counterparts from Bath City, with a 2 p.m. kick- off, also at West Clewes.

There will be no admission charges as such for the Welton Rovers home friendlies this season and, instead, donations will be gratefully received for Dorothy House Hospice.

These are likely to be some of the last games to be hosted in front of the club's eighty-year-old grandstand as B&NES have now discharged the planning permission requirements and the club will be scheduling in the demolition and groundwork without delay.

This promises to be one of the busiest pre-seasons at Welton Rovers for some time, as the club has also announced a new website and matchday programme sponsor in the form of ASE Couriers Limited and hope to announce a new main sponsor in the next fortnight. Any local firms wishing to sponsor the new grandstand should get in contact with the club.
