Welton suffered their third league defeat in a row when they were beaten by their visitors from Wiltshire.

Welton's cause wasn't helped when they found themselves two down after only ten minutes. The first goal came after five minutes, when a poor goal-kick from Chris Blammon fell to David Percival, who was loitering just outside the area. He immediately shot the ball across the Welton box were it struck the unfortunate Welton Skipper, Jack Metcalf, and flew into the net.

Five minutes later it got worse for Welton when a long ball out of defence from Westbury dissected the Welton defence and the ball fell at the feet of Mark Young, who looked in an offside position, but nothing was given and he raced onto the loose ball and volleyed past Blammon.

Welton were shell-shocked but eventually got their act together and a cracking effort from Andy Keen was well saved by Lewis Porter in the Westbury goal. Further good play from Welton saw Paddy Doyle's long range shot go close and Porter was on hand again to deny Jake Slocombe. However, at the other end, Welton had Greg Dando to thank when he cleared off the line to deny the visitors a third just before half time.

The second half began with Chris Brimble coming on for the injured Dan Scrivens. Welton's first attack of the half saw Lewis Parker turn his marker, but then shoot wide of the target. An Andy Catley free kick was drilled into the box and the unmarked Keen was an inch away from connecting what would have been a certain goal.

Welton suffered another setback when Slocombe was injured to be replaced by youngster Matt Curtis.

Further Welton pressure saw the Westbury defence all over the place, unable to clear the ball and it fell to Metcalf who managed to get a toe to it but the effort was saved by Porter.

Welton were not giving up and a rasping shot from Catley was saved by Porter's legs. A long ball found Keen at the far post and his powerful header had goal written all over it until it struck the keeper's body, who didn't know anything about it and the ball went out.

This galvanised Welton and Porter made two outstanding saves to deny Sandquist and Keen. The vital breakthrough for Welton just would't happen and the visitors rubbed salt into Welton's wounds when with a minute remaining, a rare Westbury attack saw the ball strike the Welton post and the ball fell at the feet of Beau Blakeman who the ball tapped in from close range to score Westbury's third.
