A YOUTHFUL Welton Rovers’ side lost 8-2 at home to highflyers Falmouth Town in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League on Easter Monday, writes Bob Allard. Falmouth netted after only five minutes when a free kick from Tom Annear took a deflection into the Welton net.  A Rubin Wilson header made it two on 18 minutes and ten minutes later Oscar Massey scored number three.

Jack Puffley pulled a goal back but Welton’s joy was short lived when Rubin scored his second and Falmouth’s fourth and just before halftime the visitors got a fifth when a glancing header from Bradley Leivers flew into the Welton net. Welton had a great start to the second half when Brandon Oputeri picked up the ball on the right and raced into the Falmouth area before launching a cracking shot that flew into the visitors’ net. Falmouth had taken their foot off the peddle but Luke Barnes had the easiest of tap ins to make it six following good work by Wilson. A free kick from substitute Cameron Hutchinson flew straight into the Welton net to make it seven and on the stroke of full time Leivers got his second and the visitors eighth.
