Chairman David welcomed all the members present to the Westfield Kurling Club meeting. The Minutes of Previous AGM were read by the Secretary, proposed by Geoff Barnard and seconded by Anne Woodham.
The Chair reported to us that after hearing of the sad passing of Nick Gibbs, condolences and a card were sent to his wife Gill, signed by David on behalf of us all at Westfield Kurling Club.
Kurling will carry on through the summer from April 3rd until 25th September for those who wish to take part. Our next winter season starts on October 2nd until 26th March 2019.
World Kurling Championships will take place in Widnes on April 28th and 29th this year.
The Richard Shaw Trophy Competition was won by Rex Padfield, the Wooden Spoon went back to Geoff Barnard.
The Secretary thanked Sheila and Geoff, again, for organising the hall and the refreshments every week; they are always there to prepare for our Kurling session. Also thanks to everyone for helping with the equipment – it makes life much easier with helping hands, and thanks to David for keeping the stones in good order.
Treasurer Rex explained the Finances as per the sheets issued to members. Our current situation is quite satisfactory at the moment, so we will keep our Kurling Club Fees the same for now.
The Election of Officers, Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary were voted enbloc, proposed by Geoff and agreed. David will continue as Prattens’ Representative, and Geoff to continue as Club Committee Member.
