In a letter to The Journal, member of Stratton-on-the-Fosse Parish Council seeks to find the missing boundary stone.

Missing boundary stone

As a member of the Stratton on the Fosse Parish Council, I have been involved with the proposed development in Beauchamp Drive, the ‘cut through’ road leading from the White Post roundabout up to and opposite the bottom of Tunnel Lane.

Bordering the site and placed between the hedge to the field to be developed and Beauchamp Drive, was a ‘Boundary Stone’ which has been there for countless years and served as a marker between Chilcompton, clearly marked on one side of the stone and, less clearly marked on another side, Midsomer Norton.

Prior to the developments, the developers said they would remove the stone and put it into safe keeping. But, some months ago, it was discovered that it was missing, and enquiries as to what has happened to it have got nowhere.

I am asking that anyone who knows anything about the whereabouts of this stone to contact The Journal or me.

In anticipation...
