Motorists leaving cars overnight in South Road car park, Midsomer Norton, are being warned to be cautious after a couple, who had been travelling to Cornwall with an organised group and had left their car alongside others’ for three nights, returned to find their car’s windows smashed and doors kicked in.

The distraught couple’s blue MG car was written off, having parked it up on Thursday, 31st October. They returned on the afternoon of Sunday, 3rd November to see that only their car had been targeted, despite choosing carefully where to park it.

The police have been involved and CCTV is being checked – if anyone saw anything, the owners are asking that it is reported to the police via the number 101. Found by one of the wheels was a fob with a car key, which has been handed in.
