Age UK B&NES and the Somer Valley Rotary Club are opening a new pop-up shop together on the High Street in Midsomer Norton in the run-up to Christmas.
The pop-up shop will open at 89 High Street (opposite M&Co) on Saturday, 12th November, selling second-hand items including clothes, toys, books and bric-a-brac.
Money raised will be split between Age UK B&NES, for its work to support local older people, and the Rotary Club.
The two charities are now asking local people to donate items to sell in the shop. These can be brought along to the shop on Friday, 11th November, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon, or at any point once the shop is open.
You can also donate items at Age UK B&NES’ office on Kingsmead Square in Bath (open Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. – 3.30 p.m.). If you would like to arrange
collection or drop-off on a different day, please call Mark Manning on: 01761 416133.
Mark Manning, from the Somer Valley Rotary Club, said: “Thank you to Eye Tech Directors, Simon Mills and Fraser Robertson, for donating use of the shop to us, and to Mendip Self Storage for giving us free storage space for our stock.”
Janet Dabbs, Chief Executive of Age UK B&NES, said: “We’re very happy to be working with the Somer Valley Rotary Club in the new pop-up shop. Since opening our very successful Hub in Midsomer Norton last year, we’ve had a huge welcome from the town.
“Money raised from the pop-up shop will be reinvested in our services which are so essential to so many older people.”
The pop-up shop will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on the following dates:
Saturdays, 12th, 19th and 26th November and Fridays and Saturdays during December 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th, with the shop opening until 7 p.m. on Friday, 2nd December for the Town’s Christmas Fair.
