The Old Bakery Artists, a diverse group of local artists, have been granted space within the Radco superstore in Radstock to showcase and sell a range of creative works from fashion and textile designers, ceramic artists, painters, illustrators and sculptors.

In addition, the internationally renowned ‘Snug Foxes’, who produce beautiful bespoke fashion items using knitting and crochet, as well as soft toys, Christmas decorations and the world-famous Somerset Goddesses, will be available at the exhibition. The group has been established for approximately twenty years and exhibits at many West Country locations throughout the year.

Don Morris, Chief Executive of the Radstock Co-operative Society, said: “We view this unique venture as a community project in which we can support local artistic and creative talent to reach a new audience within our Radco store. One of the additional advantages is that we will be donating a significant proportion of any revenue earned to our community charities.”

A launch ceremony took place last Saturday to celebrate the opening, attended by the Society’s President, Graham Jeffery, and accompanied by Directors, Suzanne Burgess and Jonathan Rich, who joined the local artists.
