There’s plenty to keep the family entertained this half-term at Victoria Hall, Radstock, with film screenings, a puppet show, creative crafts and theatre events.

The week kicks off with a screening of The Royal Ballet’s brilliant production of Woolf Works (12A) on Friday, 10th February. This critically-acclaimed ballet by multi-award winning choreographer, Wayne McGregor, is inspired by the literary work of Virginia Woolf and was recorded live at the Royal Opera House.

There are two cinema screenings on Saturday, 11th February – a 4.30 p.m. screening of the beautiful animation, Kubo and Two Strings (PG) and a 7.30 p.m. showing of the hit romantic comedy, Bridget Jones’s Baby (15). Bridget is now forty-something, has broken up with Mark Darcy, and is pregnant. The problem is, no one knows who the father is, not even Bridget herself. Oscar winners Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth are joined by Patrick Dempsey for the next hilarious chapter of the world’s favourite singleton.

Fans of Sherlock Holmes and Victoriana are in for a treat on Sunday, 12th

February with a performance of The Singular Exploits of Sherlock Homes at 7.30 p.m. This high-energy, one-man show features Jonathan Goodwin as the greatest

fictional sleuth of all time. This good old-fashioned entertainment is suitable for adults and children aged 11+.

On Tuesday, 14th February Theatrix Arts perform A Dragon’s Tale, a magical story based on the legend of the Lambton Worm told with puppets, music and sound

effects. After the show, there is a chance for children aged 4+ to meet the puppets and create their own dragon puppet in a craft workshop. There are two performances at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. NCT Baby Cinema returns on Friday, 17th February at 10.30 a.m. with a chance for parents and carers to enjoy a screening of Winnie the Pooh (U) with their babies and children whilst older children aged 5+ can enjoy a creative craft session.

The week rounds up with another Acoustic Session on Saturday, 18th February.

This popular monthly event showcases local open mic performers plus a headline act. Headlining this month are the Frome based band, Jupiter Owls, who’ll be
