Children’s charity, Barnardo’s, has presented a regional award to Manager, Emma King, from Midsomer Norton, who is responsible for more than twenty fundraising stores across Somerset, Wiltshire and Bristol.
Last year, Emma’s team of 350 staff and volunteers received 160,000 bags of donations, raising hundreds-of-thousands of pounds to support the charity’s work with vulnerable children across the UK.
In recognition of her success, Emma has been named Business Leader 2018 for southern England and Wales.
Emma said: “I’m very proud of my amazing team and couldn’t have won this award without their outstanding commitment. Every day, I’m astonished by their hard work and dedication.
“I also want to thank all of our generous supporters who donate their pre-loved clothes, books, toys, games, CDs, DVDs, accessories and bric-a-brac. It’s great that we are able to ‘recycle’ so many items while also raising much-needed funds in aid of such a worthy cause.
The Midsomer Norton Barnardo’s store is located in The Hollies, opposite Sainsbury’s.
