A big thank you to last week’s Mystery Photograph provider, Stephen Gardner, who shared the photograph of New Buildings, Carlingcott.

It was a difficult one, with a few correct answers, so well done to: Barrie Brown, Selwyn Rees, Jenny Hooper, Les Box and Hannah Selway, Chris Lancaster, Richard Sheppard, James Barter and Nick Thayer.

Chris Lancaster tells us: “The photo can be dated as no earlier than 1909 as Prospect Place is there, which has a date plaque on the wall for that year.

“These were the ‘New Buildings’ for Carlingcott (well, they were new once), as most of the originals were built before Peasedown St John came into existence.

“Some still get upset if you say we are part of Peasedown. ‘Carlingcott House’ is also sit- uated here.”

If you think you know the location of this week’s Mystery Photograph and would like a mention next week, email: [email protected] or via Facebook or Twitter: @MNRJournal.

Thanks to our readers who have been supplying photographs and of course, the main supporters of this feature, Radstock Museum.

If you would like to supply your own Mystery Photograph for readers to guess, please note that we are unable to accept visitors to our office at this time. Please scan and email your photographs, journal.co.uk (making sure they are large files and high resolution for print) to: [email protected]
