RESIDENTS, families, friends and members of the community gathered for Crandon Springs Care Home’s annual Summer Fair, enjoying a day of music, activities and fundraising.

On Saturday, August 9, the event featured live performances, stalls, games and refreshments, offering activities for residents and visitors of all ages.

Entertainment was provided by Mini Concerts, performing a range of popular songs from The Beatles to Johnny Cash, while homemade cakes prepared by the home’s chef team were available for visitors to enjoy.

The fair included games for children and stalls selling plants, wooden crafts, bead jewellery and original paintings by resident artist Jane Ayton. A raffle, bottle tombola and refreshments, along with the art sales, raised more than £500 for the Residents’ Fund, which will be used to support future events and activities.

Crandon Springs manager, Meg Cleal, said: “The Summer Fair was a fantastic day for everyone. The atmosphere was brilliant, the entertainment was spot on, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together. Events like this really highlight the community spirit we have here at Crandon Springs, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along to support us.”

One relative said: “The community spirit here is wonderful and the staff are great. It’s been a fun event and very well organised; well done!” while another visitor commented: “It’s been a lovely day. The singer was amazing, and it’s been great to get out and enjoy this wonderful garden.”

Crandon Springs Care Home enjoys hosting regular events for residents, relatives and the community.
