A group of friends and business associates from the Norton Radstock area have joined forces in support of a local man. Russell Zisa-Davies, from Radstock, has just been told that his leukaemia has returned and that treatment from outside the UK may be his only option. After reading his story in the local press and seeing fundraising efforts on Facebook, the group decided to take immediate action and set about raising funds themselves.

Matt Burt, a neighbour of Russell's, was in the early stages of planning an event, when he was contacted by Nicola Ostergaard, from Paulton, asking him to help with an event she was already planning with her friends, Kim Davies, Kayleigh Lapham and Sophie's Nails.

Neither party had secured a venue at this stage, so decided to work together. They decided to hold a Family Fun/Pamper Day and asked George Hill, from the Susan Hill School of Dancing, if they might use the newly-refurbished Victoria Hall, that they occupy, to host the event. George agreed immediately and kindly offered to open the premises especially.

The organisers have been overwhelmed with local businesses offering their services or donating prizes for a raffle draw, which include a Mulberry purse and Hunter wellies. Nic Naks Cutting, Sophie's Nails, Ruby Tuesday Photography Ltd, Ling Chi Holistic Heath, Bouncers and Shakers, Phoenix Cards, Jamie at Home, Seren Star, AJK Stitchmasters Ltd and Pattacake Baby are just some of the businesses taking part in the event on the day.

The event takes place this Sunday, 19th January in the large upstairs studio at Victoria Hall from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and everybody is welcome to come along for a great day of fun and/or pampering, featuring hair styling and cutting, small photo studio, nail stylists, seated massage, face painting, bouncy castle, soft play, refreshments and much, much more!
