Volunteer, Jason Preston, organised a bike ride from Radstock to the old Severn crossing to raise money for Radstock Juniors, part of Keynsham and District Mencap Society, on 19th May.
Twenty people took part in the forty-mile ride and raised almost £500. The money raised will go towards providing fun activities for the young adults.
Project Leader, Nicky Albrow, said: “It was a wonderful day, and the smiles on their faces as they completed the journey, said it all. A great achievement.”
Jason added: “A huge thank you to Stuart Harvey transport (providing the van to bring back the bikes), Bob (for getting riders home safely), Somerset Taxis (for providing the minibus for the return journey), A. David & Co (for supplying fruit to keep the riders going) and to Nicky Albrow for driving the van.”
A spokesperson from Radstock Juniors said: “The event would not have been possible without the vision and commitment of Jason Preston, who continues to fundraise tirelessly for the club, who offer an essential service to the community. Another great one!
“Thank you to everyone who took part, we hope you enjoyed the day and will join us for the next one!”
