Years 8 and 9 were treated to a special visitor when highly decorated SAS officer and world renowned writer, Andy McNab, currently on a nationwide book tour, took time out of his packed schedule to come to Norton Hill School to give an inspiring and motivational talk to students about his life experience.
He has come from being labelled a teenage delinquent, to being the British Army’s most highly decorated serving soldier when he finally left the SAS and now is an internationally known writer. Andy was inspired to pay us a visit after one of our students had written to him as a fan. Khalid, the student in year 7, who wrote to Andy, got to meet and talk to his hero, as well as getting his books signed.
McNab told the children how the education he received in the services has been the driving force to his success, he took time to answer questions from students and chat to them individually whilst signing books. Known for being the bestselling author of Bravo Two Zero, McNab is currently on tour promoting The New Enemy. This is the third in the explosive Liam Scott thriller series, the first two thrillers in the Liam Scott series have both been number one bestselling young adult fiction.
