Pupils from St John’s Primary School began the school year in freshly decorated classrooms thanks to the efforts of The Somer Valley Rotary Club.

A team of volunteers, led by St John’s Finance Manager, Paula Talbot, cleared, prepared, painted and glossed two large classrooms and two office areas.

Headteacher, Claire Mirams, who also supported the work, is delighted with the results: “We are very grateful to the Rotary Club for their hard work and the dedication of the volunteers. The result is fantastic, and the children are taking real pride in their environment.

“This is the place where a large part of their childhood is spent, and we want to make it the best it can be. Without the volunteers from the Rotary, this transformation would not have been possible.”
