PRIMARY school pupils from Writhlington, Radstock, were able to attend the House of Lords as part of a trip to London on Monday, September 15.

Year 6 pupils from St Mary's Church of England Primary School & Nursery made the visit as part of the class' curriculum on British democracy, history, and citizenship, giving students a look at how laws are made and the history behind the UK's political system.

During their time at the House of Lords, pupils were guided through the historic chamber and got the chance to ask questions about the role of the Lords in shaping the nation.

Following the visit, the class took a guided tour, visiting Westminster Abbey, Parliament Square, Downing Street, St James’s Park, and ending their journey at Buckingham Palace.
