School celebrated for strong values and outstanding pupil support

PUPILS at Marksbury Church of England Primary School are beginning the new school year confident that they attend a “nurturing and inclusive school” according to a recent report.

The school’s Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) took place in July, with the findings published at the end of the academic year.

The one-day inspection focused on the school’s Christian vision of ‘Educating Generations to Succeed’ and its impact on the whole school community.

In particular, the SIAMS report highlighted Marksbury as “a warm, caring and welcoming school at the heart of its village community,” where “pupils behave exceptionally well and show respect, kindness and consideration towards others” and “ leave well prepared for the next stage of their education, with confidence, knowledge and skills.”

Amanda Trim, Headteacher at Marksbury said: “We are delighted that the SIAMS inspection has recognised the caring, inclusive and nurturing environment we strive to provide for every child at Marksbury.

“Our vision of Educating Generations to Succeed is at the heart of everything we do, and it is wonderful to see the positive impact this has on our pupils, staff and wider community reflected in the report.”

Marksbury is a member of The Partnership Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of 17 schools in B&NES and Somerset. The SIAMS inspection commended the Trust for it’s strategic leadership and direction enabling school leaders to “identify local needs and effectively serve their diverse rural community.”

“It is clear that pupils are thriving in an environment where they feel valued, supported and inspired to achieve their best. We are delighted that the SIAMS’ inspection recognised both the school’s strong Christian culture and the positive impact of our Trust’s strategic support.”
