The official results for schools in England and Wales were published last week and Norton Hill again found itself amongst the highest performing schools in the country and in second place in the local authority for the percentage of children achieving 5+ A*-C, including English and mathematics.
The school focuses on the harder academic subjects and is achieving results far above the national averages. Last year, 72% of children achieved the gold standard of 5 or more GCSEs, including English and Mathematics. Results in maths and English place the school in top 20% of schools nationally.
Headteacher, Alun Williams, said: “I am delighted once again by the attainment and progress of children at Norton Hill. Staff and students worked incredibly hard to achieve these stunning outcomes. I am delighted too, that so many people are choosing to send their children to Norton Hill. Parents know that those subjects that are important, like languages, history, geography, music and so on, have a currency now and always will – they mean something to employers and universities. Well done to everyone who worked so hard!”
