A bedtime story at Shoscombe Church School raised £340 last week, thanks to ‘cosy night in’, organised by teachers and parents.

The event, held on Wednesday evening, saw children return to school dressed in their pyjamas, onesies and slippers!

Headteacher, Ruth Noall, said: “Thank you to everyone who came back to school on Wednesday evening to enjoy a bedtime story. Our teachers enjoyed reading a selection of their favourite stories while the children drank hot chocolate and munched on a biscuit!

“Whilst the children settled down for the stories, we were delighted that so many parents came to browse the book sale.”

The books were provided by Oldfield Park Bookshop in Bath, who made sure that all profits from the sale were given back to the school to purchase new children’s books for the school library.

“The parents shopping spree was impressive and raised £340,” added Ruth.

“Thank you also to FOSSA, our Friends of Shoscombe School Association, who ran the second-hand uniform stall alongside the book sale.”
