THIS year’s Midsomer Norton annual Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday, November 9, with the ceremony centred at the town’s War Memorial.

The parade will begin at 10.46am, followed by a non-denominational service conducted by ministers from local churches. Those who have chosen to lay wreaths will fall in behind the Army Cadet Force and Air Training Corps contingents.

At 10.59am, the mayor will read the Exhortation, followed by the Last Post, two minutes’ silence, and Reveille.

The president of the local Royal British Legion will then deliver the traditional tribute: “When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today.”

The ceremony will conclude with the laying of wreaths and the hymn ‘I Vow to Thee, My Country’.
