CHURCHES in Peasedown, Wellow and Shoscombe will be hosting a range of Christmas services this coming festive season to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

St John’s Church in Peasedown, St Julian’s in Wellow and St Julian’s in Shoscombe are all part of the St J’s Group of Anglican Churches, which are led by Rev Matthew Street.

Between them, nativity services, midnight communion, Christmas celebrations and carols in the pub will take place in the three villages.

Over the run-up to Christmas and on the day itself, a series of church services and carol events will take place across the area.

On Wednesday, December 17, St John’s Church in Peasedown St John will host a “Come along and sing the Christmas story” carol service from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Saturday, December 20, will see carols at the Red Post Inn in Peasedown St John from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

On Sunday, December 21, St Julian’s Church in Wellow will hold a carol service from 4.30pm to 5pm.

Several services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 24, including a Christmas Eve carol service at St Julian’s Church in Shoscombe from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, a Christmas Eve nativity service at St Julian’s Church in Wellow from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, and midnight communion at St John’s Church in Peasedown St John from 11.30pm to 12.30am.

On Thursday, December 25, St Julian’s Church in Wellow will host a Christmas Day family communion from 9.30am to 10.30am, followed by a Christmas Day celebration at St John’s Church in Peasedown St John from 10.30am to 11.30am.
