THERE are a number of events being held at Kilmersdon Village Hall in the coming months.

A ‘Pop-up Cafe’ was run by Kilmersdon Village Hall Committee during July and August, which was very popular.

The café was supported by villagers, as well as those passing through the village and was a welcome stop off for walkers and cyclists. Although the menu was fairly limited all the produce and ingredients were fresh and prepared with care.

Thanks went to some of the Kilmersdon WI ladies (who meet in the hall every second Thursday of the month at 6.45pm) who supplied a selection of home made cakes and quiches, with a gluten free option available as well. The café will now become a regular event at the village hall and will be open once a month on a Saturday between 11am and 3pm. Next event will be October 18, and then again on November 15 — no cafe in December.

Parish councillors will be in attendance at the next café event and will be happy to answer any questions that locals might have.

In 2026 the café will run on the first Saturday of each month, starting on January 3.

The committee intends to hold other regular events in the coming months. Bingo will begin on Saturday, October 25, where there will be cash prizes with doors open at 7pm for ‘eyes down’ at 7.30pm. If there is enough support for bingo this will also be made a regular event.

The committee will also host a quiz night next month on Friday, November 28, at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. There will be a licensed bar and refreshments on sale at both of these events. The hall is now able to take card payments as well as cash.
