SOMERSET & Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton are treating Fathers to a free train ride this Father’s Day, June 21, when they travel with accompanying children.
Dads and children can travel as many times as possible with the All Day Rovers subject to space.
A spokesperson said: “Bring your Dad along to the railway to enjoy a train ride or two. You can explorer the restored station, visit the rebuilt signal box, and admire the gardens.
“The museum has a large number of exhibits relating to the Somerset & Doset Railway - not just Midsomer Norton. Don't forget to visit the WW2 pillbox with it's own small museum.”
Refreshments including cream teas will be available in the RMB Buffet with the patio area open in good weather.
The Emporium will be open selling second hand books and model railway items, and the station shop will be open for gifts, cards toys and railway clothing.
Tickets are also still available for the Diesel Driver experience on the Somerset and Dorset Railway for Saturday, June 13.
Under the supervision of one of their experienced drivers and after a little training, participants will be handed the controls of one of our resident diesel locomotives and will be treated to one return trip up the line.
The locomotive will be hauling the "Queen Mary" brake van and the ticket price includes up to 6 people travelling in the Brake Van behind the loco with options for larger parties.
The "Taster" sessions last approximately 40 minutes each and you must be aged 18 or over to drive the loco.
Spaces are limited and you must pre book a specific session. Tickets will include 6 passengers travelling with a max of 12 people and can be purchased online when making main booking or on the day for £3 per person.
