There’s second helping of high quality, ‘big screen’ entertainment this month at Kilmersdon’s ‘cinema’ as Reel People screen the award-winning Finnish film, Compartment No 6 (Cert 15, subtitled).

If you are feeling those January Blues or you just want to see this critically acclaimed film on your doorstep, then head over to Kilmersdon Village Hall for 8pm on Friday 26 January. You are guaranteed a warm, friendly welcome.

Compartment No 6 transports you to Moscow to join two wildly different travellers on a 1,200-mile train journey to the arctic port of Murmansk. Laura, a young archaeology student, gets on the uncomfortable train in the freezing, wintry cold only to find that she has to share a cramped compartment with Ljoha, a drunk, young coal miner who is on his way to get a job at a local pit. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2021.

Everyone is very welcome at Reel People Films and memberships are still available for the remaining four films or you can attend as a guest. The doors and bar open at 7.15pm for a drink and chat. The film starts at 8pm prompt.
