THIS October, Midsomer Norton Railway Station will host a series of family-oriented events, offering themed activities and heritage train rides for children and adults.
On October 26, the railway will run a Hallowe’en train ride, with accompanied children aged sixteen and under in Halloween costume travelling free.
Due to the popularity of the event, two sessions will be held, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Both sessions will feature the Haunted DMU and a steam train, with attendees able to ride both.
A variety of Halloween activities will be available throughout the day, and the shop and buffet will be open from 10am to 4pm.
The event provides a festive opportunity for families to enjoy the railway and the surrounding countryside. It is strongly recommended that tickets be booked in advance, as the event sold out well in advance last year. Children must be accompanied by at least one fare-paying adult.
On October 29, children are invited to bring their Halloween-ready teddy bears for a day of steam-powered excitement and playful competition. At 2.30pm, under the station canopy, judges will award the best-dressed teddy bear.
The winning bear earns its family a free train ride for up to four passengers. Steam train services will operate throughout the day, giving children and their teddy bears the chance to travel along the local countryside and experience the historic features of Midsomer Norton Railway.
The event combines playful competition with the opportunity to learn about heritage railways in an engaging, hands-on way.
Additional information about both events, including schedules, activities, and guidance for visitors, is available on the Midsomer Norton Railway website, where families can also find details on tickets and other arrangements to plan their visit.
