AN opera company is set to bring its production of ‘The Magic Flute’ to the Chew Valley area when it performs in Blagdon.

Taking place on Friday, July 11, at Yeo Valley’s Organic Garden, Opera In A Box is known for its use of unconventional venues, such as barns, gardens and historic castles.

The company looks to merge opera’s traditional elements with contemporary twists, offering audiences intimate and electrifying performances.

Audience members have shared that “Opera in a Box delivers an evening of magic for all ages,” and have praised its blend of musical artistry with innovative staging.

Doors for the event open at 6pm, with guests being asked not to arrive before this time. Ticket holders will be able to wander around Yeo Valley’s organic garden before the show starts.

Chairs, picnics, blankets and any other low level accessories are welcome, and no seating will be provided for the event. Any picnics should only be eaten in the Ha Ha garden.

Guests are also asked not to bring their own drinks, as Valley Arts will be putting on a bar for the evening. Proceeds from this bar will go towards the cost of the evening.

Umbrellas should not be brought along to the show in the event of rain due to the risk of blocking other people’s sight-lines.

As this is an outdoor performance, guests are warned that some surfaces may be uneven, but there will be a flagstone pathway to the grass performance area, which is all on one level.

Tickets are non refundable and the production will take place in all weathers, it will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions.

Anyone who may have any questions relating to the show ahead of the performance are encouraged to get in touch with Opera In A Box.
