PARK Cinema returns to Midsomer Norton on Sunday, June 7, with A Celebration of Nature on Screening.

The event hosted by Somer Valley Rediscovered is part of the Festival of Nature Programme of events for 2026.

The free screening takes place at the amphitheatre in Midsomer Norton between 3pm and 8pm and features My Garden of a Thousand Bees, a longer feature film in partnership with Wildscreen charity.

This film “follows acclaimed wildlife filmmaker Martin Dohrn as he sets out to record all the bee species in his tiny urban garden in Bristol, England.”

It features “bees laying tiny eggs preparing for the next generation, green-fanged spiders feasting on male flower bees and a female yellow-faced bee attacking a Gasteruption wasp.”

There will also be a short film of the Somer Valley Rediscovered green spaces and where to explore, and a look into the Active Way project who have been supporting health and well-being through active travel, as well as an introduction to the Great Western Forest programme.

The event in the beautiful setting of the Midsomer Norton Town Park Amphitheatre is free of charge.

A spokesperson said: “With England currently one of the most nature-depleted countries on Earth, the challenge to restore biodiversity and kickstart nature recovery and wellbeing has never been more urgent.

“Come along to find out how we can give back to wildlife and to ourselves as individuals and communities.”

Parking is available at South Road car park, but visitors are asked to walk, use the bus, or wheel where possible. Toilets and Disabled Parking will be available in the Somer Centre.
