Radstock Town Council recently welcomed families with children to attend a special Halloween event; ‘Fireside Stories’ with Somerset storyteller Michael Loader.

The event was held in ‘The Orchard’ behind Church Street Car Park. The event took place under the tree canopy where the audience gathered around a small, raised fire pit. Spooky lanterns and decorations adorned the trees. Children enjoyed hot chocolates and toasting marshmallows by the fireside.

Michael Loader, an accomplished and engaging storyteller, entertained children and parents with interactive tales specially selected in celebration of all hallows, a time where traditionally it is considered that the veil between worlds thins. The stories featured a number of musical instruments for sound effects, mastered by the children, as well as a chorus of dancing spirit ghosts.

This event was part of Radstock Town Council Cultural Programme which is made possible with funding from the UK government via the UK shared prosperity fund.
