JANE Richardson and John Scaife treated us to a feast of images from their recent month long stay in Tenerife, writes Jenny Short of the Radstock Photographic Society.
The weather fluctuated but gave opportunities for photos of reflections in the rain as well as raging waves on the seafront and snow on the mountain tops.
With them we rambled through the cemetery and the narrow streets, awash with colour and carved balconies.
We savoured the floral delights and enjoyed the lack of mess and litter as well as the efficiency of the local transport systems that took them daily to the heights of the Caldera and the mountain villages, or circuitously to the coast and the coffee shops.
It was a comprehensive tour and one that enable both to show a range of photographic skills that we look forward to seeing more of in the future.
Diana Walker’s member evening (April 10) was both entertaining and informative with a wide variety of images presented with care in both still and audio-visual formats.

Diana is well known for her love of the natural world, and we have come to expect a high standard of photography from her many excursions at ungodly hours, equipped with everything but the kitchen sink!
We got a very good balance of imagery, mostly taken in the past twelve months, and yes, there were many images from Longleat, the Somerset Levels and a trip to Skoma for the Puffins, beautifully represented in a haunting audio-visual.
Diana is an expert in naming species, and was generous in sharing this along with her camera techniques, so that we all came away well informed botanically, and with something that we now want to try even if we don’t head out quite so early in the morning!
Members are reminded to bring along their entries next week for the print competition.
