THE Community Farm in Chew Magna has been named as a finalist in the Best Organic Retailer category at the 2025 Best of Organic Market Awards.

The farm faced a rigorous judging process by a professional panel of industry judges and beat competition from across the country to be named as a finalist.

The awards, run by leading organic certifier Soil Association Certification, in partnership with headline sponsor Ocado, honour the brands, organisations and people behind the UK’s organic industry.

The UK’s organic market has shown strong expansion, growing 7.3 per cent in 2024 with total sales of £3.7-billion, double what they were just ten years ago, according to Soil Association Certification’s 2025 Organic Market Report.

John Miller, food and farming manager at The Farm, said: “We are incredibly proud of the growers and volunteers on our own fields, as well as the other local farms we support, who do a fantastic job in growing great quality, organic produce that is good for nutrition, better for the planet, and frankly the best for taste, too.

“Thanks must go to all of the staff and volunteers involved with The Farm, as well to all our customers who choose to buy from our online shop.”

Soil Association Certification commercial and marketing director, Georgia Phillips said: “We are delighted to see The Community Farm named as a finalist. “Demand is growing for organic as more people are looking for products that are better for them and the environment.

“Organic offers vital solutions for climate and nature, which is why we’re so excited to see brands like The Community Farm getting excellent results.”

The Best of Organic Market (BOOM) award winners will be announced at the BOOM awards ceremony on Thursday, July 10, at Paintworks, Bristol, hosted by TV personality Andy Clarke.
