HEALTHCARE professionals, policy makers, and community members will come together in Frome to explore the links between climate action and public health at a one-day conference on Monday, November 3.

The Green and Healthy Frome 2025 Conference, taking place at Wesley Church in Frome, is designed to share practical insights, showcase real-world projects, and provide workshops and site visits that highlight the co-benefits of climate action for health and communities.

Over the past five years, a partnership between Edventure Frome CIC, Frome Medical Practice, and Frome Town Council has supported local residents in taking climate action while also improving health, community engagement, and cost savings.

Backed by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund, the initiative has attracted national attention for its practical, people-centred approach, demonstrating how local projects can deliver measurable benefits for both climate and health outcomes.

The one-day conference will feature a programme of presentations, workshops, and site visits, offering attendees the opportunity to learn from real-world projects and practical experiences.

Healthcare professionals, policy makers, and community members will hear case studies, view films and photographs, and participate in interactive sessions designed to share insights and tools that can be adapted or scaled in other communities.

Becky Lovegrove, lead project manager for Green and Healthy Frome, said: “This will be a conference like no other – dynamic, immersive, and rooted in real-life practice. It will show what is possible when communities, healthcare, and local government work together.

We will be sharing not only our successes but also the challenges and lessons learned, so others can adapt and build on them. Our aim is to create a living legacy, in Frome and beyond, of action and system change that improves both climate and health.”

Tickets, which include light refreshments and are offered on a ‘pay-what-you-can’ basis, can be booked at greenhealthyfrome.org
