A LONG time Radstock Co-operative Society member has celebrated a milestone birthday.
Gwendoline Violet Chivers (neé Parfitt) reached her 100th birthday on October 20 and spent a very busy day celebrating with all of her family.
She has two daughters, Lynne and Caroline; three grandchildren, Jordan, Darryl and Lauren; and four great grandchildren, Luke Jake, Jessica and Elizabeth. Gwendoline was the seventh of nine children, and she married Frederick Chivers in 1944.
Gwendoline has been a member of the Radstock Co-operative Society since around 1945. CEO Don Morris, who shares the same birthday, visited on October 30 to wish her a very special happy birthday.

Gwendoline reminisced how things were very different back in the day when she used to ride her bicycle from her home in Westfield to the Radco store.
She was also very pleased and excited to receive her 100th birthday card from the King and Queen.
