With plans to redevelop the play park area outside Midsomer Norton Leisure Centre, operators Dragonfly Leisure are launching a survey to ask the community for its views.

Dragonfly Leisure, a charitable leisure trust committed to improving access to health and wellbeing services and

facilities across the Midsomer Norton and Radstock area, are seeking funding to replace the historic play equipment on the site that has come to the end of its natural life.

To ensure this space offers what local people want and encourage people of all ages to be active outdoors, Dragonfly Leisure’s community engagement exercise is aimed at children, young people, and their parents to seek their views on how the area can best be used and developed. This consultation includes a short online survey, which can be found in the Blog section of the Dragon Leisure website, directly accessible at: https://www.dragonflyleisure.co.uk/adventure-play-park-at-midsomer-norton/ The survey will remain open until March 18th.

Matthew Wise, Chief Executive of Dragonfly Leisure said: “Our overriding objective is to provide a broad range of

leisure activities that help improve the health and wellbeing of local people of all ages. We hope to reverse the worrying trend of inactivity in children and young people by creating a free to access innovative and engaging outdoor community space that encourages fun physical activity.”

A summary of the main points raised by this consultation will be included in a report which will be presented to Midsomer Norton Town Council. For any questions about this project, please email: [email protected] or call: 07817 484955.
