Macmillan Cancer Support and We Hear You (WHY…) cancer counselling have teamed up to offer group therapy programmes.

The first twelve-week programme began on 3rd May, with weekly sessions from 10.30 a.m. – 12 noon at the Cheese and Grain, Market Yard, Frome BA11 1BE. The free sessions are facilitated by qualified counsellors and open to anyone who is caring for or supporting someone with cancer or a life-threatening condition.

Melissa Hillier, Director at WHY…, said: “At WHY…, we typically deliver one to one support and counselling, but this doesn’t suit everyone. It was clear that there was a need for group therapy sessions, and with funding from Macmillan, we’re very pleased to be able to fill this gap in service provision. “The group sessions are a great way to talk about concerns and feelings in a confidential, safe environment – but also to get

emotional support, share ideas and chat to people who understand what you’re going through.”

If anyone wishes to join the first group, the last few remaining spaces will be kept open for up to two weeks in. For further information or to book your place, please contact the WHY… office on: 01373 455255, or email: [email protected]
