Bath-based charity Age UK B&NES are looking for runners to raise funds in the Bath Half Marathon this year.
Age UK B&NES still have places available, with a registration fee of £15 to sign up, and a minimum fundraising goal of £175.
As a local, independent charity, Age UK B&NES is many things to many people: a source of advice, information, companionship and support. For the older population, many of the services provided by this charity are an opportunity to reduce loneliness by providing activities that help to develop new friendships and networks of support, and offer support and guidance when life becomes difficult.
The annual Bath Half will take place this year on Sunday, 17th March. Covering 13.1 miles, the route winds its way through the streets of the World Heritage City, starting and finishing in Great Pulteney Street.
All the money raised in sponsorship will go to help older people here in Bath & North East Somerset, allowing the charity to continue to provide vital services and support in the region.
Age UK B&NES CEO, Janet Dabbs, says: “Even though last year’s race was cancelled because of the snow, we had a record amount of sponsorship and it would be great to beat it. I will be running myself this year, and look forward to seeing other members of the community there too.”
