Bloomfield Care Home in Paulton went all out for International Picnic Week by inviting the children and staff from Little Stars Nursery to the event – with Teddy Bears, of course!

Residents, their visitors and the children, were invited to the home’s garden to enjoy the beautiful weather.

A whole host of freshly baked treats made by head chef, Pawel Kwaitowski, helped to get the party started. Hampers were packed to the brim with a selection of sandwiches, pasties and pork pies, for residents to enjoy al fresco. The fun didn’t stop there as some of the other delights on offer included refreshing juices, freshly baked cakes and pastries.

Gail Stone, General Manager at the home, said: “Picnic Week is a great excuse for us to get outside in the sunshine and enjoy a picnic in the beautiful garden. Now that we can open up our gardens again to visitors, it is lovely to be able to make the most of the summer sun, having the children here made it even more perfect.”

Christine, a resident at the home said: “I’ve always loved a picnic, it is so nice to be able to sit outside in the sunshine, and having the children here was just wonderful, they were such fun and very well behaved. The food was absolutely delicious, a lovely bit of pork pie, lots of different tasty cheeses and the strawberries were so sweet – it was a perfect day.”
