A CHARITY afternoon tea hosted by the local singing group Sing Your Heart Out was held to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now, a UK charity focused on breast cancer research and support.

On Sunday, May 18, members of the local singing group Sing Your Heart Out hosted a charity event at Stratton-on-the-Fosse Village Hall to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Now. Friends, families, and residents from the surrounding area came together to enjoy a relaxed and cheerful afternoon filled with tea, homemade cakes, and a strong sense of community.

In addition to the refreshments, a range of fundraising activities took place throughout the afternoon. Attendees browsed a clothes stall, participated in a raffle, guessed the weight of a fruit cake, and explored the bring-and-buy stall in search of hidden treasures. The atmosphere in the hall was lively, with conversation and laughter as people of all ages gathered to support the charitable cause.

The event raised £1,000, which will be donated to Breast Cancer Now to support its research and services for individuals affected by breast cancer across the UK.

One of the event organisers and choir members said, “We’re absolutely thrilled with the turnout and the amount we’ve raised. It’s a cause close to many of our hearts, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together to support it. All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon, helping to make a big difference, one cup of tea at a time.”

Sing Your Heart Out’s next performance will be a ‘Raise The Roof’ concert at St John’s Church, Chilcompton, on September 26 at 7.30pm. The event aims to raise funds for repairs to the church roof. Tickets are priced at £8 per person, with refreshments available for purchase (cash only). The concert is open to all.
