Times are very difficult for many right now, and in response, a team of local volunteers have come together to form The Community Food Network (CFN). The CFN aims to help those struggling without having to wait, initially by providing support in the shape of food care packages.

It launched by making care packages made up of long-lasting food items generously donated by Welton Rovers Football Club. They then worked with the football club to distribute supplies to those needing them the most.

Locals were able to claim a care package with a no questions asked policy. The packages included food staples such as pasta, rice and long life tinned goods, as well as tea and orange juice that would help to provide healthy, varied and balanced meals.

The CFN is completely non-profit and hopes to grow as a project in the coming months. It will be looking for volunteers and donations to support its work.
