The Club, held every Tuesday after school at St John’s Church in Church Road, is for all primary-school aged children. It includes crafts, outdoor play, reading, group work and storytelling.

Sarah Carney, SJ’s After School Club coordinator, said: “We recently had the toilets renovated in the Church Hall and the children wanted to make the corridor by the toilets a more interesting place to pass through.

With the help of an ‘under water’ theme, we created a mural along the corridor wall. The kids created fish, crabs, mermaids and lots of other great imaginative images.

The mural looks fantastic and has added a wonderful ‘splash of colour’ to the walls.”

SJ’s is a fun, creative, caring club which can collect children from Peasedown St John Primary School at 3.15pm or children can be dropped off to the club from 3.30pm. The club is open to any child, whichever school they go to or wherever they live.

“We’ve closed now until September, but parents can book their children into the club for the new term on our website,” added Sarah.
