Gill said: “I was looking through some old things that belonged to my father and found a newspaper insert from the Bristol Evening World from 30th July 1933. It is a four page insert about an Annual Rally at the Rock of Ages, Burrington Coombe. It says:
“‘Sunday two years ago, 30,000 people took part in one of the most important religious gatherings of modern times. The Rally at the Rock has now become an annual event.’
“Along with details of the service and other information, there are photos of those taking part. One of the photos is of Midsomer Male Choir with its conductor Mr H. Gould.”
