North Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm October 23 to 5am October 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 21 exit slip roads - lane closures for North Somerset Council works.

M5, from 8pm October 15 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to junction 21 lane closures for improvement/Upgrade scheme.

M5, from 9pm September 29 to 6am December 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to junction 18 lane closures for bridge maintenance.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 9pm October 30 to 5am October 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 - lane closure for drainage works.

M5, from 8pm November 6 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 21 to junction 20 single lane running for improvement/Upgrade scheme.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
