The mystery photo last month was taken in Bishop Sutton, on what is now the A368, near the post office, probably during the late 1920s or early 1930s. The buildings shown are all still there, although the railings have gone. A group of village people have gathered for a grand day out, though where they were going is a mystery.

Charabanc outings were very popular in this era, although concern was being raised in newspapers nationally about the large number of accidents on steep hills involving this type of vehicle. A serious incident occurred on Harptree Hill a hundred years ago, which resulted in several fatalities.
