B&NES Labour Councillors Liz Hardman and Grant Johnson are leading a campaign to save the 82 bus, supported by Cyril Mitchard (Paulton Parish Councillor with responsibility for buses) and local bus users.

Grant and Liz said: “Children in Paulton deserve a bus service that can get them to and from school. So we are launching a campaign to save the No 82 bus service.

“Not only does this provide a vital link for pupils in Paulton to our local secondary schools, but it also provides many elderly residents with an accessible and convenient bus service across the Somer Valley.

“This campaign will involve lots of negotiations with First, but we really need you to support us and show how important this service is.

“If you agree with us and want to help save our No 82 service, please sign the petition on this link to send a message to First Bus that this village isn’t going to go down without a fight. Paper petitions will be put in local shops later.”
