PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset Council in the Somer Valley area.
• Moving traffic regulations (consolidation) order, impacting various roads, to consolidate the orders specified in schedule 1 as they relate to the roads indicated on the maps set out in Schedule 2 of the order. A copy, along with a map and a Statement of Bath and North East Somerset Council’s reasons for making the order, may be inspected, free of charge, at The One Stop Shops at The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton and 3-4 Manvers Street, Bath.
• External works for new timber fence to side and rear - 37 Priory Close, Midsomer Norton.
• Display of wall name plaque, non-illuminated hanging sign and internal window blinds. AR ABG Hall Ltd Scrap Yard Ham Hill Radstock - change of use from scrap yard to aggregates storage and sales (sui generis) including hire of small plant. (retrospective) - 71 Lyncombe Hill Lyncombe Bath - Remediation and repairs to rear boundary wall - 3 Northumberland Buildings, Wood Street, Bath.
• Temporary Closure of Bath View. This order will enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works. The works are expected to commence on August 29 between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm for a total of seven hours.
• Installation of replacement boiler flue (retrospective) - Fairfield Cottage, Bell Hill, Norton St Philip.
• Replace three sliding sash windows on front elevation & five casement windows on left elevation with timber framed windows. Replace render with lime render on front/left elevations - Springmead School, 13 Castle Cnr, Beckington.
• Replace existing tiles to ground floor extension. Raise existing parapet by 250mm. Remove section of stonework and install a cavity tray with weep holes and rebuild cavity wall with removed stone. Remove two existing windows to the kitchen and replace with double glazed timber units - The Manor House, Church St, Stoke St Michael.
• Road closure in that length of Lansdown Road, Charlcombe, Bath from its boundary with South Gloucestershire extending south to its junction with Beachwood Lane. This order is required to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works on August 27 from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
